Mark Pohlkamp, Knowbella Tech CEO , one thing that I consider on occasion though are potential economic factors contributing to LinkedIn’s leveling out prior to their acquisition. For instance, is it irrational to expect exponential growth from sites like LinkedIn when unemployment is extremely low? It makes sense for use to rise proportionately with the rate of unemployment, which makes me wonder if LinkedIn is just the beneficiary of economic chaos. Hypothetically, it also helps curb that same chaos in a few ways and I truly believe that it has merit and a place in the modern day because of this.

However, part of me also wonders if Microsoft had little to do with the aforementioned egress and if LinkedIn simply did a great job of masking the fact that they were hemorrhaging users prior to acquisition. Social platforms don’t need to cook their books when they can play with they are free to play with their usage statistics to an even greater effect in a manner that few people understand well enough to see the true offense.
